3rd Annual Flag Football Game

Nov 8th, 2008 by admin | 0

Calling all able-bodied sports-type people! November 22nd is our third annual Flag Football Game. This is a great time for the teens and adults to have some fun together. Men and women are invited to play ($5 per person). So if you’re up for some exercise and don’t mind being a little sore the next day, come on out and play. Saturday, November 22nd, 9:00 AM (sharp!) at the upper field (between the gym and softball field) at Lassen College. Come play, cheer, or just watch and be entertained.

Thanksgiving Fellowship Dinner

Nov 8th, 2008 by admin | Comments Off

It is time for our Thanksgiving Dinner on November 23rd at noon. Again this year we are making it a potluck meal. Please note each family is to bring a main dish AND one of the following according to last name: A-H… dessert; I-Q… salad & rolls; R-Z… vegetable dish.
With such a large crowd, it’s important that each family help out with the meal. It will be a wonderful service, so please invite your family and friends. Drinks and table settings will be provided. We want this to be enjoyable and as easy as possible for everyone.
Also not there will be ONE SERVICE ONLY AT 10:45 AM (nursery & children’s church will be available; NO SUNDAY SCHOOL).

Community Wide Worship

Oct 31st, 2008 by admin | 0

The Susanville Evangelical Ministers Fellowship is sponsoring a community-wide Thanksgiving worship service on Sunday, November 16th at 6:00 PM at Susanville Assembly of God. We will be collecting canned and boxed food items for Crossroads Thanksgiving Outreach, so please bring some items. A number of local churches will be participating. Why not join together with the larger body of Christ for a great time of music, sharing and communion?

Church Business Meeting

Oct 31st, 2008 by admin | 0

It’s that time of year again. We’ll be voting on the proposed 2009 church budget, sharing the 2009 vision and updating you on the building and other important items. There will also be some new folks to vote in (PTL!!). Agendas and proposed budgets can be picked up at the Information Table. The meeting is Sunday, November 9th at noon. Also take note of the 2009 Informational Meeting on November 3rd.

Vision 2009

Oct 31st, 2008 by admin | 0

In order to provide more clarity and interaction about the 2009 budget, we will be having an informational meeting. This is so the pastoral staff and elders can lay out the church’s vision for 2009. There will be lots of details and specifics given for each area of ministry. So please, plan to attend. We are doing this so that the business meeting can be moved along in a timelier manner. Budgets and agendas will be available. We welcome your input. This is open to all who attend Community Church. The date is Monday, November 3rd, 7:00 PM in the Youth room.

Operation Christmas Child

Sep 28th, 2008 by admin | Comments Off

We’re excited to once again be a part of this ministry that reaches all over the world. Through packing a simple shoe box, many children and their families are reached with God’s love that would otherwise never have been touched. Last year, over 7.6 million shoeboxes were shipped to over 90 countries, several of which are inaccessible to traditional missionaries. In addition to the items packed by volunteers, each box also contains a booklet explaining God’s love for each person and His plan of salvation.

To find out more and how to get involved, visit the missions page by following this link: Operation Christmas Child.

Serving Others at Crossroads

Sep 28th, 2008 by admin | Comments Off

The Lord said, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel.” Our involvement with Crossroads allows us to do just that, right here in our own backyard. If you’ve never been, then you’ve missed out on being a blessing to others and letting others be a blessing to you.

This month we will be bringing chili, cornbread, and dessert for the Saturday night meal (Please MARK YOUR DISHES). There will also be a program. Come and join us, bring your food, and stick around for worship, a time sharing God’s Word, and eat with the people. This month Walter Kirklin will be speaking.

Sign-ups for the food are at the Information Table. Mark the date: Saturday, Oct 25th, 5:45 PM at Crossroads. JOIN US!

The Walls Are Going Up!

Sep 24th, 2008 by admin | 0

Saturday, September 20th, a group of Community Church people showed up to work on erecting the interior walls of the new building.  It is exciting to see the layout of the various rooms.  Let’s keep this important effort in prayer. You can check out some pictures by going to the building page.

If you have any interest in helping out, please contact Mickey Thornton.  Every little bit helps us move closer to the day of occupancy.
